ZCH Ranks China’s Top Two over the Past Five Years According to the Latest ASTEM Report
Over the past five years, Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZCH) ranks 2nd among all children’s hospitals and 74th among all hospitals in China, according to the latest national report on accumulative science and technology evaluation metrics (ASTEM), released by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences on July 19, 2024.
Meanwhile released was STEM report that evaluates all China’s hospitals in terms of science and technology in the year of 2023. According to this report, ZCH also ranks among the best, as the 3rd children’s hospital and the 80th comprehensive hospital in China. It is the fifth consecutive year that ZCH secures its place as China’s top three children’s hospital.
In terms of disciplines, ZCH takes the lead in a wide range of fields, especially in pediatrics and nephrology. The hospital now boasts 15 top-hundred disciplines in China, namely pediatrics (4th), nephrology (10th), cardiovascular surgery (28th), ophthalmology (33rd), rheumatology and autoimmunology (34th), allergology (37th), critical care medicine (55th), anesthesiology (57th), respirology (68th), rheumatology and autoimmunology (70th), pathergasiology (73rd), emergency medicine (79th), neurology (84th), lemology (94th), and hematology (94th).
Many disciplines made remarkable progress over the last year. For example, nephrology rose from 74th to 10th, rheumatology and autoimmunology from 91th to 70th, cardiovascular surgery from 45th to 28th, ophthalmology from 49th to 33th, emergency medicine from 91th to 79th, and anesthesiology from 69th to 57th. Also noteworthily, lemology and pathergasiology secured their top-hundred places among all hospitals in China.
