Professor MA Daqing Delivered a Lecture at WCA International Conference
At the invitation of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA), Professor MA Daqing attended the 18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA) held at the Suntec City Convention Centre, Singapore, from March 2 to 8, 2024. Professor Ma delivered a keynote lecture entitled "Choice of Anaesthetics: Does It Make a Difference?" at the conference as an invited speaker. Professor MA Daqing's lecture inspired anesthesiologists to think deeply about the choice and impact of various anesthetics on cancer cell biology for cancer patients’ use. Professor Ma participated in discussions and exchanges in many important links of the conference, winning the recognition of peer experts, fully demonstrating the international influence in the field of anesthesia of ZCH and Zhejiang University.
WFSA is founded in 1955, now has 134 anesthesiologist association members from more than 150 countries, committed to uniting anesthesiologists all over the world to improve the level of safe anesthesia for every patient. The WFSA organizes the World Congress of Anesthesiologists every four years in association with one of its association member in different countries, promoting science, education and training of anesthesiology, and providing attendees with the opportunity to exchange deeply with worldwide anesthesiologists.
Professor MA Daqing has long been committed to anesthesia mechanism and perioperative medicine research, especially in the field of xenon protection of brain, kidney, lung and other organs, postoperative cognitive impairment and delirium, and the molecular mechanism of tumor recurrence and metastasis after anesthesia and surgery. He has received more than 40 research grants from MRC, Alzheimer's Society/BupaFoundation, BJA/RCoA, AAGBI, SPARKS, EU, European Anaesthesia Society, etc. and five international patents. Prof Ma has more than 400 pure reviewed papers published in decent international journals including Lancet, PNAS, BMJ, Annals of Neurology, Annals of Surgery, Kidney International, JAMA Surgery, Critical Care, Critical Care Medicine, British Journal of Anaesthesia and Anesthesiology with H index 82, i10 142, citation more than 23,000. Professor Ma is currently a Qiushi Chair professor at Zhejiang University, Executive Dean of College of Pediatrics of Zhejiang University, tenured professor of anaesthesia of Imperial College London, Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and Member of Academia Europaea (MAE).
