Pathology Department
Overview
Pathology Department of the hospital is a comprehensive clinical department composed of pediatric surgical pathology, gastrointestinal biopsy pathology, kidney biopsy pathology, bone marrow pathology, cytology pathology, molecular pathology, and respiratory virus detection. More than 15,000 cases of external examination, more than 250 cases of renal puncture examinations, and more than 180,000 cases of respiratory virus detection should be implemented in the department every year with a growth rate of 20%-30% every year. It has accumulated rich experience in the diagnosis of various childhood diseases, especially pediatric tumors, gastrointestinal and renal pathology, and has a strong ability in the diagnosis of difficult and rare diseases.
There are currently 14 staff members in Pathology Department, including 1 chief physician, 3 attending physicians, 1 deputy chief technician, and 3 supervisor technicians.
At present, enjoying nearly 800 square meters of space, the department has a computer management system and advanced experimental equipment,with a reasonable layout and standardized procedures. In addition, it also enjoys fully imported automatic staining machine coverslipper, automatic dehydrator, paraffin embedding machine, MICROM paraffin slicer, frozen slicer, Leica paraffin slicer, frozen slicer, automatic immunohistochemistry instrument, Leica automatic, etc.
Histopathological examination, fine needle aspiration cytopathology, rapid intraoperative pathological examination, complete kidney examination, respiratory virus detection, special staining, enzymatic chemical staining, immunohistochemical staining, in situ molecular hybridization, autopsy, etc.
Professional Features
The gastrointestinal and tumor pathology of children has a great influence in the country. Since the diagnosis of renal puncture was carried out in 1991, the department not only served the patients in the hospital, it has also received specimens and consultations from more than ten general hospitals in the province, contributing to the improvement of kidney pathology. The detection of respiratory viruses has resolved the need for clinical detection of pathogens and has produced good social and economic benefits.
At present, Dr. Tang Hongfeng, director of the department, is member of the Pediatric Pathology Group of Pediatrics Branch of Chinese Medical Association, vice chief of the Pediatric Pathology Group of Chinese Children Cancer Group, member of the Pathology Committee of Chinese Maternal and Child Health Association.
