Burn & Plastic Surgery Department

Overview

Burn and Plastic Surgery Department was established in 1993, which is the pediatric burn treatment center in Zhejiang Province.

There are 25 beds and 10 doctors in the department, including 2 vice chief physicians, 4 fellow surgeons, and 4 residents. There are more than 20,000 outpatient visits, over 1,000 hospitalized patients, and about 500 patients who are operated in day surgery center every year.


Service

(1) Burn injury: including flame burns, scalds, electric burns, chemical burns, explosive injury, etc.

(2) Various acute and chronic refractory wounds: necrosis and defect of skin and soft tissue after infection, congenital or trauma,

(3) Early scar prevention and functional exercise

(4) Plastic Surgery: various vascular diseases, including hemangioma, lymphangioma, arteriovenous malformation, congenital craniofacial deformity, such as cleft lip, cleft palate, transverse cleft, ear deformity, comprehensive correction of various scar deformities.

Professional Features

The department provides comprehensive and in-depth diagnosis and treatment for patients. It carries out professional and individualized comprehensive treatment for every patient according to the specific conditions with good patient outcomes. The department is outstanding in the treatment of congenital cleft lip and palate, complicated facial deformities, and extensive scalds in children, reaching the domestic advanced level.


Research

The department has conducted many research programs of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Health Commission of Zhejiang Province, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Department. 15 papers have been published, including 6 SCI papers with 11.885 IF in total. It has in-depth research on the diagnosis and treatment of cleft lip and palate, burns, hemangioma, scars and other diseases.
