From July 14th to September 12th, 2025, I have participated in a short-term advanced training at the Shizuoka Children's Hospital in Japan. This hospital is one of the renowned pediatric medical centers in Japan, well-known for its expertise in treating complex pediatric conditions and providing comprehensive support and care for children. The purpose of my overseas training was to enhance my comprehensive capabilities in pediatric specialized nursing, emergency response, and humanistic care through systematic learning of its advanced nursing management and clinical practices. This experience holds significant implications for my professional growth and the promotion of cross-cultural nursing exchanges.

To enhance the perioperative management and critical care capacity for children with complex congenital heart disease (CHD) at our institution, I undertook a two-month clinical training program at Shizuoka Children’s Hospital, Japan, from July 14 to September 12, 2025. The training focused on the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the Department of Cardiology, and the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery.

I am an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from Malaysia currently pursuing my subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine, with special interest in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG). My journey so far has taken me across diverse healthcare settings, from completing two years of assisted reproductive medicine and PAG training in Malaysia, followed by a 6-month clinical attachment at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, to now completing the final part of my training at Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZCH) in China. Each phase has enriched my understanding of this evolving field, but my experience at ZCH has been especially formative.

From May 7, 2024 to June 18, 2024, I attended the observation program at Children’s Hospital of Loma Linda University in the United States. During this visit, I learned about the history of the development of Loma Linda University Medical Center, especially the development process of the Children's Hospital and NICU. I have a deeper understanding of the differences between the medical operation system of the Loma Linda children’s hospital and ours, and different medical culture and values.
