Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University Signed a Memorandum with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital Singapore
On February 27th, 2026, at the invitation of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital Singapore of Singapore (KKH), Dr. Zou Chaochun, Executive Vice President of the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZCH), led a delegation of ZCH to visit KKH. The delegation members included Dr. Xu Xiaojun, Director of the Department of Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Huang Xinwen, Director of the Department of Genetics and Inherited Diseases, Dr. Fan Xiangming, Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, Ms. Cheng Xiaoying, Director of the Department of Nursing, and Ms. Zhang Ling, Director of the International Affairs Office. During the visit, the two sides officially signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, marking the opening of a new chapter of multi-dimensional and deep international cooperation between the two top pediatric medical institutions in China and Singapore.
Founded in 1858, KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) is the only tertiary referral hospital focusing on women's and children's health in Singapore. It is also one of the oldest and largest women's and children's specialized hospitals in Southeast Asia. KKH is a benchmark institution for maternal and child healthcare in Southeast Asia.
During the visit, Dr. Zou Chaochun and the delegation of ZCH met with Prof. Alex Sia, Chief Executive Officer, heads of the Department of Endocrinology, Hematology and Oncology, cardiac surgery, Pathology, nursing department, and Strategic Cooperation and Global Health Office of KKH. The two sides comprehensively introduced the discipline layout, clinical characteristics and development strategy of two respective hospitals, and carried out warm discussions on the construction of pediatric key specialties, diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases, and collaborative innovation of scientific research in pediatric medicine.
Witnessed by the representatives of both sides, Dr. Zou Chaochun and Prof. Alex Sia signed the MOU on behalf of ZCH and KKH respectively. According to the memorandum, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, the two hospitals will deepen cooperation in such areas as two-way exchanges of personnel, joint participation in international academic conferences, vedio discussion on complex cases, focusing on core areas such as pediatric hematology and oncology, congenital heart diseases, inherited metabolic diseases, and pediatric nursing care.
The delegation had a hospital tour of KKH, visited Blood Cancer Center, Musculoskeletal Center, Burn Center, and Diagnostic Interventional Imaging Center, etc. Dr. Fan Xiangming had an opportunity to observe the advanced clinical operations such as cardiopulmonary shunt surgery. ZCH delegation had a deep understanding of the practical experience in the treatment of critical pediatric patients, specialized center construction, and medical quality control at KKH.
