Speech and Pathology Academic Exchange Week Between ZUCH and LLU
This year, the Covid-19 has had a significant impact on international academic exchanges all over the world, therefore, it also interrupted the seventh-year academic exchange activities between our hospital and the Department of Speech Pathology of Loma Linda University in the United States. After much discussion, the Department of Rehabilitation of our hospital and the Department of Speech Pathology of LLU held a two-week online academic exchange event successfully in September 2020.
At first, Dr Li Haifeng introduced the achievements of 7-year's collaboration between two teams and gave thanks to LLU Speech Pathology Team for their great help.
Then, it came to the case sharing. The therapists in our hospital analyzed basic data such as medical records, assessments, and plans of difficult cases, shared training and family videos and gave special topics on how to promote the active language development of children with autism and the improvement of the level of play, how to improve the feeding difficulties of children with congenital cleft palate, and how to conduct better behavior management for children in group classes.
In addition to exchanges and reports on the most cutting-edge academic progress at home and abroad, the two teams also shared and summarized the research work in the past year and future developments in the event. From basic theory to clinical practice, everyone learned a lot from each other.
