Transfer Center for Critically Ill Patients Formally Established at ZUCH

On July 13, a patient from Xianju, Zhejiang, weighed only 1.3 kg and developed symptoms of respiratory failure, which was beyond the capacity of local hospital. The Transfer Center for Critically Ill Children at ZUCH immediately dispatched a professional medical team to transfer the baby once receiving the request of help from the local hospital. Under the support of Hangzhou 120 rescue system, the baby was successfully transferred to ZUCH after 9 hours.

“This is the first case transferred in cooperation with Hangzhou 120 rescue system after the establishment of the center.” Wang Wei, Chief of the Medical Affairs Department of the hospital, introduced. In order to transfer critically ill children to receive better medical treatment at ZUCH, the hospital has established the center, providing professional medical personnel and medical equipment for transfer. At the same time, the drivers and ambulances are provided by Hangzhou 120 rescue system.

The establishment of  a transfer network plays an important role in the treatment of critically ill children, which can effectively standardize the management of critically ill patients and ensure critically ill patients can receive timely medical rescue.
