ZUCH Celebrates the 70th Anniversary of its Founding

On May 26, the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine held 2021 Children's Health Development Summit Forum and has been celebrating its 70th anniversary. At the same time, National Children's Regional Medical Center and the National Clinical Research Center for Child Health were officially inaugurated, which meant that ZUCH was committed to making a nationwide contribution to the development of pediatrics and to providing world-class care to children. Almost 400 participants attended the forum, including overseas partners.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine on its 70th anniversary. This is indeed a happy milestone to celebrate.......” Dr. Kevin Churchwell, President and CEO of the Boston Children's Hospital, delivered a speech at the 2021 Children's Health Development Summit Forum through video. 

In addition, Dr. Kurt Newman, CEO and President of the National Children's Medical Center in Washington D.C, and Dr. Kisaburo Sakamoto, President of the Shizuoka Children's Hospital in Japan, also specially filmed a video to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. 

With the rapid development of the hospital, the international exchange and cooperation work of ZUCH has ushered in a leap-forward evolution. Since May 1984, the earliest and most standardized NICU in China was established in ZUCH with the help of American Project HOPE, which embarked on new path of international exchange and cooperation of ZUCH. At present, the hospital has established cooperative relationships with dozens of internationally renowned universities and children’s hospitals, such as the Boston Children's Hospital, the Children's National Medical Center, the Royal Children's Hospital, and the Shizuoka Children's Hospital, etc.
