Reflections on My Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital

From October 3 to December 14, 2025, I completed a clinical fellowship in pediatric urology at Boston Children's Hospital. This ten-week experience significantly enhanced my clinical expertise while fundamentally reshaping my understanding of comprehensive pediatric care delivery.

My Learning Experience at Shizuoka Children's Hospital

From July 14th to September 12th, 2025, I have participated in a short-term advanced training at the Shizuoka Children's Hospital in Japan. This hospital is one of the renowned pediatric medical centers in Japan, well-known for its expertise in treating complex pediatric conditions and providing comprehensive support and care for children. The purpose of my overseas training was to enhance my comprehensive capabilities in pediatric specialized nursing, emergency response, and humanistic care through systematic learning of its advanced nursing management and clinical practices. This experience holds significant implications for my professional growth and the promotion of cross-cultural nursing exchanges.

Reflections on My 6-Month Clinical Attachment in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology at Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine

I am an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from Malaysia currently pursuing my subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine, with special interest in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG). My journey so far has taken me across diverse healthcare settings, from completing two years of assisted reproductive medicine and PAG training in Malaysia, followed by a 6-month clinical attachment at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, to now completing the final part of my training at Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZCH) in China. Each phase has enriched my understanding of this evolving field, but my experience at ZCH has been especially formative.

From May 7, 2024 to June 18, 2024, I attended the observation program at Children’s Hospital of Loma Linda University in the United States. During this visit, I learned about the history of the development of Loma Linda University Medical Center, especially the development process of the Children's Hospital and NICU. I have a deeper understanding of the differences between the medical operation system of the Loma Linda children’s hospital and ours, and different medical culture and values.

My Learning Experience in the Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine

Choosing China for my subspecialty fellowship has always been my wish. With the increasing number of countries sending their students to study here, it has become an even more popular destination for overseas fellows. I had the honor of sharing my experience and revelations at the Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZCH), which serves more than 4 million patients and provides multidisciplinary consultations to over 1,800 children annually. Being attached to this growing and renowned PAG center in China and the world was an excellent pleasure. I am grateful for my childhood learning of Mandarin, which helped me to indulge more in this learning atmosphere. My journey began in December 2023, where I was immersed in clinical experience under my supervisor, Dr. Sun Liying, Director of Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology Department of ZCH and helpful team members for nearly three months.

Reflections on Hong Kong Trip

I had the privilege of participating in the 2023 Asian Child Life Symposium from August 11 tp 18, 2023. The symposium was the largest one focusing on Child Life in Asia, organized by the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, co-hosted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Children's Hospital, and generously sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The event drew the participation of nearly 200 professionals, including certified Child Life Specialists , doctors, nurses, and foundation members, hailing from various corners of the globe.
